Basic Style
Style
This is the style of railing you would like on your project. This refers to picket orientation, picket style, and overall appearance. Estimates will change based on style. Most common style is Vertical.

Height
This is the overall height of straight sections of railing. 36" is the minimum requirement for Utah residential projects. 42" is the minimum requirement on commercial guard railing. Any style can be built to either height. 42" is recommended for homes with children.
Color Selection
This is the color you would like to get your railing powder coated. Most common is Matte Black.
Measurements
Straight Measurements
This is the measurement along straight and level openings which need to be filled in approximate linear feet. Example: measurement between two porch columns or from a wall to a corner in the railing to be installed.

Stair Measurements
These are measurements taken along the hypotenuse of stairs or parapet walls in approximate linear feet. Example: measure from the nose of the bottom step to the same point on the top step, or from the nose on a parapet wall to where the sloped section ends at the top of the stairs.

Wall Mounted Grab Rail
Please measure any areas where stair railing will not be acting as a grab rail. Measure from the nose of the lowest step where a wall mounted grab rail is needed to the top step or end of where it is needed. A wall mounted grab rail is needed anywhere there is not a designated hand rail at 36".
